AFC U20 Asian Cup

AFC U-20 Asian Cup​ is an international football men competitions under 20 years old base in Asia. It was formerly known as the AFC Youth Championship and AFC U19 Championship. AFC U-19 Championship first played in 1959 for the Asia-Pacific young men football competition. The tournament changes the formats various time. The current format is very similar to the AFC Cup for the qualifying stage open for all AFC members countries to participate. The main event narrows down to 16 teams, divide into some specific groups by a fair groups draw.

General format of U-20 Asian Cup

AFC U-20 Asian Cup plays every two years. The year between will be qualifying stage. Because each season has the host country, those host countries are advance qualified to the main competition. The qualification stage is likely a bigger event than the final AFC U20. In the qualify tournament, there will be​ 44 teams of the AFC members play in 10 groups. Each group has its own host countries. The top two teams of each group advance to the main tournament in the next year.
